                                        In the third world, millions of dogs and cats wonder the streets, most emaciated and diseased. Most do not live long, and often die slow, painful deaths from malnutrition and disease. It is a far cry from the United States, where there is a cult like worship of a tiny, select number of dogs and cats to the exclusion of all else that lives, including dogs, cats, other animals, and people.
